Peer Support Volunteers are people who have lived with limb loss for several years and have successfully adapted to the challenges of amputation. Our Peer Support Volunteers play a vital role in the lives of individuals and their families

The recent acquisition of funding from NDIS ILC and the Tasmanian Community Fund has allowed for the first major expansion of our Peer Support Programme in many years.

TAS is about to conduct Peer Support Training across the state and we are inviting interested volunteers to attend

Peer Support links individuals (and their families) pre or post amputation with trained amputees who have experienced living with and adapting to limb loss. The TAS programme matches members with someone of a similar age, level of amputation and gender.

  • Our Program connects amputees with trained Peer Support Volunteers
  • Peer Support Volunteers are individuals who have adapted to limb loss and willingly give of their time to support others during their recovery
  • Peer Support Volunteers can also assist family members or care givers who want to better understand how they can help a loved one who has experienced (or is about to undergo) an amputation

Peer Support training is being conducted in the following locations:

Launceston – November 2019 | North West – December 2019 | Hobart – April 2020
